Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche
The National Research Council (Cnr) is the largest public research institution in Italy, the only one under the Research Ministry performing multidisciplinary activities. The Institute of Agricultural Biology and Biotechnology is part of the National Research Council (IBBA-CNR). The main research themes include 1) Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and ‘omics technology; 2) Systems Biology; 3) Bioinformatics and Biostatistics. The main skills of the team are genetics, molecular biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics. The Bioinformatics and Statistics team at CNR interacts constantly with leading companies in the field of sequencing and genotyping developing new tools and software tailored for these emerging technologies, to address new data analysis and data interpretation needs. The Bioinformatics team has also a long track record for database and web-applications development in past and current EU Projects.
The Bioinformatics Core Facility manages large datasets and carries out the analyses of complex large volume sequence based information.
