NEIKER-Tecnalia is a technological center specialized in the research and creation of innovative solutions for the agri-food and forestry sectors. As an entity under the Department  of Economic Development and Infrastructure of the Basque Government,  NEIKER works to bring knowledge and value to these sectors, developing new technologies aimed at improving productivity and management of farms, to meet the requirements of quality and safety that the agri-food industry and the final consumer demand. To achieve this, it maintains a proactive dialogue with the different stakeholders and collaborates in the resolution of the challenges of the primary sector and agrifood companies, among which are:

• the improvement of the profitability and sustainability of the agro-livestock farms;
• the generation of new productive activities that create wealth and employment;
• the control of food security;
• the reduction of the impact of global warming.

All this working in terms of scientific excellence. We train professionals recognized by the international scientific community, capable of generating knowledge that contributes to improving the competitiveness and sustainability of the agri-food sector. We aim to become a global reference in innovation and contribute to the dissemination of knowledge through scientific publications, the participation of our researchers in forums and congresses and the organization of dissemination days.
